QC Technician – San Francisco, CA.

This position includes, but not limited to:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS
Warehouse Pre-Operational checks, fill out Pre-Op Logs and input into Database
ATP Swabbing, Environmental Monitoring, Collect Product Samples as necessary
Provide various Logs for OPS & Sanitation Crews
Keep Inventory and Provide Cleaning & Food Safety Supplies
Perform Finished Product Inspections
Aging Inventory Inspections (herbs & tomatoes)
Provide data for Trials as needed
Enter deviation information into database
Perform Post Operational Inspections
Complete all GMP Logs, verify, validate and file
Assist in company audits
Inspect/QC all incoming products and determine if the product meets specifications
Evaluate results of shelf life, quality and microbial samples
Check packaging codes & traceability information on products
Place on hold, all raw ingredients; work in process, or finished product that fails to meet company’s specifications
Periodically check SOP as implemented on the various production lines and report deviations to Management
Interface with Supervisors to determine corrective actions required for out of specification items.
Promptly notify Production and Quality Assurance about any serious quality issues and assist in finding resolutions
Promptly notify the Quality Assurance Supervisor about any critical quality issues
Monitor that all plant personnel are following GMP requirements. Report any discrepancy to Management
Participate in all types of training - GMP’s, HACCP, SOP’s, SSOP’s, Chemical Usage, Quality Assurance Procedures and Safety, that relates to personal well-being and performance improvement
Any other duties as may be deemed necessary to promote the company’s interests and welfare.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to read and write
Must be able to work any day of the week, with flexible hours and overtime when necessary
Education background to include competency in the four basic arithmetic functions – add, subtract, divide, multiply; understand weights and measures in metric and imperial systems.
Ability to pull, push, lift and carry up to thirty-pounds (approx. 16 kilos).
Must be able to work alone in a fast paced environment.
Ability to communicate easily with other employees
Must report to work on time for each scheduled shift
Follow instructions and directions given by Supervision or Management
Knowledge of GMP’s, GLP’s, HACCP, SSOP’s and SOP’s are essential
Assume ownership of all tools and equipment placed in his/her custody and maintains them in good condition at all times
